Michael Lockwood Memorial Swim Meet 2008

Michael Lockwood Memorial Swim Meet 2008

As always the MLM Swim Meet was a great success with over 70 swimmers attending this four day swim meet including 7 swimmers from two teams in Jamaica .  The competition was stiff and most of the swimmers put everything into their swims to ensure that they swam PB’s (personal best times) at the end of the day.

Despite this being the first long event swim meet of the season, a number of swimmers not only improved on their Life Time Best Times, but they also broke five club and pool records.  In addition to these great swims athletes like 10 year old Alice Narborough made a great impression on all with her toughness in the water and her determination to take on the longer events and to do them well.  Her commitment was rewarded by her receiving the High Point Award for the 9 – 10 age group.

Lara Butler broke the 100m Backstroke record.  Danielle Boothe broke the 100m Fly, 100m & 200m Breaststroke records and her younger sister Stephanie broke the 8 & under 100m Butterfly record.
