Walter Rodgers Session Three and Four Update
http://www.swimjamaica.com/MeetResults2012/meet_results_2012.html
With the meet now over and the third and fourth session (Saturday) results now officially posted, we can confirm that Cole Morgan did indeed achieve the "A" time he required in order to be eligible for selection to the 2012 Cayman CARIFTA Team. His time of 1:14.30 in the 100 Metre Backstroke threw his name in to the hat of those under condsideration.
Meanwhile, a huge sigh of relief was heard from Northern Florida when the news reached Brett that his 8 and under 50 fly record set in 1998 had survived a scare, this time only thanks to the watchful eye of a meet official. It may not last much longer!
There were outstanding performances by all team members during the two sessions on Saturday. Lauren Williams, Wunyae Crawford, Sarah Jackson, Liam Henry, Iain Macrae, Alex Dakers and Ella Plunkett all gaining valuable long course racing experience and holding their own against tough competition, Kyle Fraser returning to overseas competition for the first time since 2003 and laying down some impressive times and the more seasoned travellers, Corey Westerborg, Jayde Solomon, Alice Narborough, Andrew Smilley, Jonathan Key and Stefanie Boothe fighting all the way to to the finish in every race.
Sundays official results have not yet been posted but a little birdie tells me there are many more exiciting swims report once they are.
The team returns home from Kingston tonight on the Cayman Airways flight.
Final update to follow...........
