Swimmers keep the train rolling Saturday evening!

 

On a warm December evening under the lights of the Jamaican National Pool, the swimmers of Stingray put on a show yet again!
 
20 swims this evening, 18 lifetime bests...
 
6 medals won tonight in total... 2 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze!
 
Alex McCallum won the 400 IM in a time of 5:06.1... a personal best by over two seconds. Alex is 4 for 4 thus far.
 
Sarah Jackson took 3rd in the 50 breaststroke in a time of 39.85, with Stefanie Boothe taking 4th place in a PB of 41.3
Jayde Solomon also swam to a 4th place finish in her age group with a time of 41.0... Jayde dropped over 5 seconds in the race!
 
Sam Bailey continues to roll... 1st place in the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:28.4, just half a second off the meet record. Sam dropped 20 seconds. Not too shabby!
 
In the Open Girls 200 freestyle, a pair of Stingrays made it on to the podium... Ashley Theaker secured 3rd place in the 200 free, beating her best short course time and swimming her fastest 200 freestyle in 8 months at 2:28.4. Katie Klein dropped 8 seconds to come in 2nd place overall with a time of 2:26.7.
 
The Girls 400 Medley relay finished off the evening by placing 3rd overall. Catriona Macrae (bk), Stefanie Boothe (br), Ashley Theaker (fly) and Katie Klein (fr).
 
Despite all of this, the overall performance for Saturday goes to Jonathan Key who swam three races today, all three of which were lifetime bests. Key dropped 5 seconds in the 50 Butterfly (36.0), 3 seconds in the 100 freestyle (1:09.4) and over 10 seconds in the 200 freestyle (2:31.7).
