Morgan, Smilley open the proceedings in Sarasota

On a warm, light summer night at the Sarasota YMCA Pool, Andrew Smilley and Cole Morgan stepped up and swam the 400 IM, the first event of the night and the first event for a Stingray swimmer.

Smilley finished the event in a time of 5:39.55, just off his previous best. Cole Morgan, despite a less than desirable butterfly leg, brought it hard in the backstroke and freestyle legs to cash in at 5:29.29, a personal best by over 24 seconds.

More action at the pool tomorrow, starting with the older boys and the 200 IM.
