SSC brings home hardware at Flowers Sea Swim

For the second year running, Stingray Swim Club was the only team on island to bring home honors from the weekend of the 21st Annual Flowers Sea Swim.

Alex McCallum, competing in the innaugural 5k event this past Monday, finished 5th overall, and 3rd place in the men's division. Teammates Catriona Macrae, Andrew Smilley and younger brother Iain McCallum also completed the 5k course.

Ashley Theaker was the 2nd Caymanian female to finish the annual 1 mile swim!

In addition, Stingray boasted loads of first time swimmers in the event (including parents). Big ups to Mary and Chris Hayman, Melanie Solomon, Dahlia Miller, Sally Poole, Michelle and Dave Bailey, and other parents (so sorry if i'm missing you) for braving the storm. And a HUGE congrats to Michelle and Sally who swam the furthest of any Stingray, completing the 10k swim on Monday as well.

Also coming down for the weekend and competing were plenty of Stingray alums, including Shaune Fraser, Andrew Mackay, Heather Roffey, Jennifer Powell, Michael Lockwood and of course Dara Flowers!

Thanks to Frankie and his family again for making the Flowers Sea Swim such a wonderful event!
