Fast Swimming and Big Awards at CIASA Sea Swim and Awards Ceremony

Saturday's Sea Swim and Awards Barbecue finished off a wonderful weekend of fun and festivies at the CIASA Annual Fundraiser. Stingray swimmers shined brightly in so many ways, from their show-stopping performances in Bohemian Rhapsody at the Gala Dinner Friday, to their fast finishes in the Sea Swim on Saturday afternoon.

In the 200m Sea Swim, Iain Macrae streaked across the finish line as the 2nd place finisher overall, and the first youth swimmer to cross the line, followed closely by teammate Corey Westerborg, who finished 3rd overall. Allyson Belfonte, Sam Dakers, Freddie and Jonny Robson also came across the line finishing strong for Stingray.

In the 400m Swim, Matthew Courtis, Cole Morgan and Iain McCallum swept the podium, finishing first, second and third respectively. All three finished ahead of visiting Olympic Gold Medalist Ruta Meilutyte, who was followed closely by Catriona Macrae, who finished second among females and 6th overall. After Catriona, a flurry of Stingray bodies came through the line, making up more than half the finishers in the top 20.

After the Sea Swim, Stingray's swimmers were decorated with awards from the CIASA National Awards Ceremony:

Shooting Stars, 2nd Place Female: Alison Jackson

Open Water Performance of the Year: Catriona Macrae
