We will be having our annual Red v Green event where we split the team into evenly split groups and have a fun day of relays, food and good cheer. This morning 7 Stingray Swimmers competed in the 5K swim. Conditions were pretty good for swimming yet again, if you look past the jellyfish. The event is basically Cayman Islands qualifing competition for representation in international swims(along with the Piratesweek 5K). The agegroups internationally are set by end of the year age, and CIASA have decided to do the same. So all kids born in the same year compete against eachother. On a bright Saturday afternoon, Stingray's swimmers young and old punished the competition here in Cayman and on the coast of North Carolina. Andrew Smilley started the day off right by winning his division and placing second overall in the Mott's Channel Swim, a 1.3 swim held on the shores of North Carolina. Catriona MacRae will set sail for Veracruz, Mexico to participate in the 2014 Centeral American And Caribbean Games this November. MacRae qualified in Barbados by finishing first in her age group in the 10k at CISC. The CAC Games is being used as one of the qualifying events for the Pan American Games next summer in Toronto.
