With a nice little current helping him breeze through the finish line, Stingray swimmer Brandon Williams put a whalloping down on the field of the Cayman National Bank 800m Brac Sea Swim this past Saturday. Brandon jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished it as he sailed down the southern shoreline toward the Brac Reef Resort. The event boasted approximately 50 participants, including healthy contingent of adult and senior swimmers. Most impressively, Brandon held a long, powerful stroke technique through the entire race, much to the happiness of...
The 2013 Island Games, held in Bermuda this July, will feature 6 swimmers from the Cayman Islands, 5 of whom are Stingray members. The team is headlined by Stingray's Olympians Shaune and Brett Fraser, who will each swim multiple strokes over several distances, hoping to bring home hardware in every event. Joining the brothers will be Geoffrey Butler, Lara Butler and Alex McCallum. Coral Tomascik of CBAC has also qualified to represent Cayman at the event. Stingray coach Andy Copley will accompany the team as Head Coach and Manager. Qualifying...
Stingray stormed the beach again Saturday, April 13 for the LIME 800m Sea Swim, and our swimmers provided another dramatic and exciting race. Blasting down the shoreline, Geoffrey Butler and Alex McCallum came sprinting into the chute trading leads like race horses bobbing toward the finish line. At the end of the day, Butler was pronounced as the top finisher, though after thorough review using the latest in video capture technology, only one thing is clear... it was too close to call. CIASA Technical Director Ian Armiger commented on the...

Geoffrey Butler kicked off the proceedings on the first night of CARIFTA, blazing the competition and capturing gold in the first final for Cayman in the 1500 Freestyle. Butler posted a personal best (16:18) and flashed his golden grin to the crowd, humbly capturing...

Alex arrived in Scotland today and will join up with the Loughborough squad on Friday for two weeks of training before competing in the City of Sheffield Premier Meet, which takes place over the same weekend as CARIFTA. We will post a link to results for Alex so you can follow his progress while abroad. Good luck Alex!...
It was a family affair on the coast of Seven Mile Beach today as cousins Allyson Belfonte and Iain McCallum cruised to first place finishes in the 200m and 600m sea swims, respectively, each followed closely by their fellow Stingray swimmers. In the first competition, the 200m lollipop swim, Allyson proved she can finally swim freestyle without holding her arms at her side (making her coach very happy) while fellow 8-Under girl Katriona Williams nearly swam past the finish line, heading for the wrong buoy (fair play though, it was...
